Aisha Rao is a highly sought-after designer, especially admired by millennials and Gen Z for her bold colors and sizeable motifs. Aisha's primary vision is to create unique upcycled luxury occasion wear. Her signature style prominently features the appliqué technique, where fabric waste is transformed into sizeable motifs and vibrant colors, enhanced by intricate aari, zardozi, and macrame overlays. Jut try me and you can't help but fall in love!

What are the signature elements in your designs?

Bold use of colours and patterns and intricate applique work.

Which collection are you most proud of, and why?

Amalgam - my first collection which brought us instant fame and was commercially successful too. Pastiche is a close second favourite and it was universally loved. Kinfolk is my current favorite because it has all the elements I adore and we introduced my favorite jacquards and accessories too!

Where do you find inspiration for your designs?

I find inspiration in stories and classic European architecture.

Which designer in the world inspires you?

Internationally, Dior's archival couture. Elie Saab for his feminine embroideries and silhouettes. In India, Sabyasachi pushes the envelope with what he does and Anamaika Khanna's embroideries and silhouettes.
