Art rendered on fabric though embroideries, appliques, and digital prints

Which collection are you most proud of, and why?

A slice of Samarkand and a bite of Bukhara inspired by the two cities in Uzbekistan that I visited in 2002 after doing a show in Tashkent.

Where do you find inspiration for your designs?

Art ... Abstract expressionistic art, Joan Miro, Picasso, and Yayoi Kusama have all been my inspirations including the Bauhaus Design Movement from Germany.

Share a memorable "aha" moment from your design career.

Shortly after I presented my SS10 collection inspired by the world-renowned Spanish artist Joan Miro, I met with King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain (then prince and princess) and presented the Queen with two of my Miro designs fresh off the ramp.
